Chris joined the Robins in November 2014 after a successful spell as Neil Gibson's assistant manager at Prestatyn Town.

Hughes, formerly assistant at Rhyl, Buckley and Caersws, guided Newtown into the top six last season, and has done so again this campaign, while also leading his side to a Welsh Cup Final.

He also guided the club to their first European campaign in 17 years and their first ever Europa League win beating Valletta 4-2 on aggregate. 

Hughes, who works as a Sports Development Officer for Wrexham Borough Council has also worked for the Welsh Football Trust and his currently taking his Pro-Licence course.

    Jones is set to go into his second season of his second spell at Latham Park having signed a new one year deal.
    Formerly of Shrewsbury Town, the commanding stopper signed for Caersws in 2010, returning to the Robins last season and but in a string of fine performances in a successful season.
    • Defender

    • Nationality: Welsh
    • Date Of Birth: 10th November 1989
    Signing for the Robins this close season will only add to Stefan's extensive experience in the WPL. The small but rapid left back caught the eye of Chris Hughes during his most recent season at fellow WPL club Bala Town, where he had cemented himself as a starting 11 player over his 3 years playing there (2011-14). Other experience in the WPL also includes a stint at Aberystwyth Town during the 2010/11 campaign. Previous to this, Edwards enjoyed playing football at both Cefn Druids and Welshpool Town.
    • Midfielder

    • Date Of Birth: 23rd July 1994
    Owen joins the Robins after winning the Cymru Alliance League with Cefn Druids last season. He originally spent 10 years working through the ranks at Wrexham FC before leaving to join the Druids in July 2013, after a brief loan spell at the club in January of the same year. Matty put pen to paper in pre-season of the 2014/15 campaign, after a string of strong performances that impressed new management.
    Grabbed the winner against Rhyl in the Welsh Cup semi-final with a stunning strike.

    • Date Of Birth: 11th October 1992

    Kieran made his name working up through the ranks of Chester City academy from the age of 13. When the club went into liquidation just 5 years later, the 17 year old signed for local side Shrewsbury Town. When he was released at 18, Newtown swiftly signed the Llanfair lad.
    Has just shy of 90 appearances after a tough season where he struggled through injury.

    Shane is a Welsh schoolboy and Wales U17 and U23 international who joined Newtown AFC on his release from Shrewsbury Town in 2007. The tall and stocky defender left Latham Park for a short spell with Presteigne St. Andrews in the Mid Wales League, before returning to the Robins for the start of the 2009/10 season. Since then Shane has been a constant in the starting 11 and has gone on to make his 150th WPL appearance for the club.
    Just signed a new contract to extend his Latham Park stay to nine seasons.
    • Striker

    Walsall born Matty was signed during the 2012/13 season. Since then he has cemented his place in the starting 11 through consistent performances demonstrating speed, skill and goal scoring ability. Such abilities were noticed and developed as a youngster at Walsall FC until he was forced to give up playing due to a medical condition aged just 13. Upon returning to football at the age of 20, Matty enjoyed a short spell at Dudley Sports, scoring 20 goals in 26 appearances before catching the eye of then manager Bernie McNally in January 2012.

    Club captain Cook is going in his fifth season.
    Began at Chester before spells at Cefn Druids and Airbus, where he suffered two horrific injuries.
    Been a mainstay in the Newtown team in recent seasons.
    Clocked up nearly 100 appearances for Newtown and over 200 in the WPL.
    • Striker

    • Date Of Birth: 30th January 1988

    Another local lad, Luke started out his career in the Mid Wales League at Presteigne St. Andrews. He joined the Robins in the 2011/12 season, making this campaign Boundy's 5th year at Latham Park. Often fondly referred to as the 'utility' of the team, there isn't a position Luke can't turn his hand to and perform in.
    Boundford has been an asset to the Robins grabbing 10 goals this season, and the winner in the play off semi-final.
    In 116 games the midfielder has bagged 34 goals.
    • Striker

    • Date Of Birth: 7th October 1992
    The former Crewe, Inverness CT, Rhyl and Airbus man grabbed 18 goals in his debut season with Newtown.
    Was second in the scoring charts and nominated for player of the season in the WPL.
    Has 12 months to run on his contract at Latham Park.
    • Striker

    Mitchell first made his debut into the WPL at the tender age of 16 playing for now Cymru Alliance side, Caersws. In 2004, the local lad moved to Latham Park, a move that lasted two seasons before Neil moved back to Caersws.
    Re-signed in January 2014, and fast became a key member of the side.
    Nominated for the 2014/15 goal of the season for a stunning strike against Rhyl.
    • Goalkeeper

    • Date Of Birth: 31st October 1997
    Perry broke his way into the first team squad at the age of 16 this summer.
    Made his debut against Prestatyn in the Robins 4-3 win.
    • Date Of Birth: 22nd July 1988
    The 2014/15 season will bring Cheltenham Schoolboy Jamie, back to Latham Park for the second time after a 2 year break from playing competitive football. At just 15, Price got a taste of the big time when he was bought by professional club Birmingham City, where he spent 2 years completing his YTS and went on to spend another 2 years at the club as a professional footballer. Upon his release, Jamie had spells at his local clubs Gloucester City as well as Worcester City before joining the Robins the first time, in 2011. He has also represented Wales at Under-17 and Under-19 levels and is a Welsh Under-23 semi-professional cap.

    Cadwallader returned to the club in January 2015 after a previous spell with the Robins.

    • Nationality: Welsh
    • Date Of Birth: 25th September 1987
    Ludlow born Sean also comes from professional footballer stock after signing a professional contract for English Premier League giants, Manchester United between the ages of 16 and 20. After spending 2 years playing for various clubs, it was when Evans was playing for AFC Telford in the Conference Premier that he sustained a broken leg during a preseason friendly in 2010, resulting in a 12 month break from football. Sean returned to play for Stourbridge in the 2011/12 season, yet struggled with more injuries.
    Was signed by Bernie McNally in 2013, and has become a key member of the side, despite a nasty knee injury at the end of the 13/14 season

    Craig has 11 Welsh Premier League seasons under his belt, nine of them with Newtown.
    A loyal local player who had a brief spell with Aberystwyth has accumulated over 300 appearances in the WPL, and got his just rewards with the play off final win this season.

    • Left back

    Joined the Robins from Caersws in the summer of 2015.
    • Midfielder

    • Nationality: Welsh
    • Date Of Birth: 12th January 1990
    Tom joined the Robins in the 2013 close season following a successful 2012/13 playing for local side Llanidloes Town. Previously to this, the strong central midfielder spent time at Rhayader and Presteigne before requiring a knee operation which left Tom sidelined for 12 months, before he was able to get half a season under his belt at Llandrindod Wells Town. Tom has come a long way under both past and present management staff, going from a WPL newbie to a consistent choice in the starting 11 for the Robins.
    Scored vital goals against Connah's Quay and Aberystwyth in the play-off final, and was named the Robins player of the season.
    • Striker

    • Nationality: Welsh
    Griffiths returned to the club from local rivals Caersws in the summer of 2015.
    He had Montgomeryshire League experience with Llanfair United before making the step-up to Caersws, where his father Nigel was a player.
    He signed for the Robins in July 2008 but returned to the Bluebirds in July 2009. Made his full debut in League Cup defeat to Penrhyncoch.
    • Midfielder

    Harris is a product of the Newtown Youth System after previous playing youth football for Bishop's Castle.
    The midfielder also turned out for Churchstoke before becoming a permanent fixture in the Robins squad last season.
    He was also part of the Europa League squad and made his debut as a sub against FC Copenhagen.
    • Assistant Manager

    Callum is currently on his A licence course through the FAW. Coming from the Powys town of Rhayader, Callum knows the local football scene, although he has lived away for most of the last 10 years, working in the Cardiff City coaching structure, and whilst there was responsible for bringing the Cardiff Ladies team into the Welsh Ladies Premier League.
    A former player with Newtown under the management of Brian Coyne & Roger Preece, he has spent the last twelve months in Conneticut, USA where he was Assistant Coaching Director for Everton.

    Born and Bred Newtownian, Wayne is a former pupil of Newtown High School and Coleg Powys. He played football amongst our youth ranks and was also the Junior Captain at Newtown Golf Club. ‘Giggsy’ qualified as a Sports Therapist in 2008 after studying at Manchester University. Wayne is also a part of the Shrewsbury Town FC Medical Team where he provides top notch Sports Therapy treatment from Academy through to First Team level.

    A Newtown girl, Sophie comes from a family dominated by Football. Her father is the Under 19s coach and Sophie is also the Physio for the Under 19s in which her brother also plays. Currently studying for her Physio degree at University.
    • Kitman

    Rose is a former Robins goalkeeper, who was in the squad for one of their European home games in the 90's.
    Has been part of the youth team set up, and last season part of the first team back room staff, replacing Tyler Clifton this season as kit man.
    • Goalkeeping coach

    Joined Chris Hughes' coaching staff in 2014 after a spell with Cefn Druids.
    Has worked with the impressive Dave Jones and Jack Perry in the recent season.
    Former academy director at Cefn Durids, former NEFA girls centre director regional LD goalkeeper coach and double B UEFA licence holder.
