DARREN RYAN - MANAGER

A former Football League winger who made 57 appearances for Shrewsbury Town, Chester City, Stockport County and Rochdale, Darren Ryan was appointment manager of Newtown in November 2006. He had held the caretaker role with assistant Graham Evans since the departure of Roger Preece a few weeks earlier. A highly experienced Welsh Premier winger/midfielder, Ryan scored 43 goals from 164 league appearances for Barry Town, TNS, Carmarthen Town, Haverfordwest County, Cardiff Grange Quins and Newtown. He has also played for Merthyr Tydfil and Newport County. He is only the third manager at Latham Park since the birth of the League of Wales.

Summer signing from local rivals Caersws. Locally-based player who came up through the youth sides with Caersws. Now established as a centre-back having started his career as a striker. Had a short spell away at Rhayader Town and Newtown before returning to Caersws in the summer of 1998 and among the top 10 of all-time Welsh Premier appearances.

Spent a year at Newtown before playing at Kidsgrove Athletic and joining Connah's Quay before the start of the 2004/5 season. Also played for Caernarfon and Ruthin Town. Took over as club captain in 2005 but left to join Unibond Premier outfit Hednesford Town in May 2006. However, he returned to Deeside in November 2006 before signing for Newtown in June 2007.

Was a trainee with Carmarthen boss Deryn Brace at Norwich City and also spent time at Derby County, Gresley Rovers, Bristol City and Merthyr before entering the Welsh Premier with Barry Town, winning championship medals where he played along side manager Darren Ryan . Has also played with Rhayader, Haverfordwest, Merthyr Tydfil and Carmarthen before joining Newtown in the summer.

Llanidloes-born winger who played for Coventry against West Ham in the 1999 FA Youth Cup final, has represented Wales at Under-15, 16 and 18 levels. Played for Team Bath while studying Coach Education and Sports Performance at the University of Bath, also for Bath City, Kidderminster Harriers, Hinckley United, Evesham United, Solihull Borough and Coventry Marconi.

Captained Denbigh Town to the Welsh Alliance title in 2006/7, a tall striker who impressed when playing and scoring twice against Newtown in the Welsh Cup. Spent a year at Everton's Centre of Excellence and also had a trial at Burnley, former clubs include Ruthin Town, Colwyn Bay YMCA, Trefnant Village, Lex XI and Chirk. Scored 26 in 28 games for Denbigh last season.

MARC LLOYD WILLIASMS - STRIKER - 08/02/1973

Known as Jiws, the Welsh Premier's all-time record goal scorer signed for TNS in season 2004/5 after scoring 176 Welsh Premier goals for Porthmadog, Bangor City (where he won a championship medal) and Aberystwyth. Moved from Bangor to the Football League with Stockport County, Halifax and York City. Returned to Farrar Road to break the league goal-scoring record with 47 in 2001/2 and would have won the European Golden Boot award had Wales enjoyed a higher Uefa coefficient. A Wales 'B' and semi-professional international, became the first to score 200 Welsh Premier goals at Caernarfon in January 2005, also breaking the TNS club scoring record and again winning the league's Golden Boot award with 34 goals. Released by TNS at the end of season 2005/6, he returned to Bangor but was released at the end of 2006/7 and joined Newtown.

Joined Welshpool Town at the end of the 2002/3 season from Shrewsbury Town. Missed a Welsh Premier season in 2005/6 before resurfacing with Newtown the following year. A promising start to the campaign was brought to a premature end when he was posted to Afghanistan with the Royal Marines.

Joined Merthyr Tydfil's youth set-up after being released by Cirencester Town and soon progressed to a first team debut with the Southern League outfit, scoring the winner on his full debut against Banbury United. Played in all three Welsh Under-19 games at the Milk Cup tournament in Northern Ireland and gained selection for the Under-21 bench in the European qualifier against Turkey. Signed for Newtown in June 2007.

Prolific marksman who has scored 100 Welsh Premier goals since 1995. Originally with Denbigh Town, he had a brief spell at Swansea City and also represented Bangor City, Rhyl and Caernarfon Town before joining Connah's Quay in 2002/3. Signed for Rhyl again in the close season of 2005 but was back on Deeside in January 2006. Left in June 2006 to join Unibond League Hednesford Town, a move which eventually fell through. Returned to Bangor in August 2007 but stayed only a few weeks before a deadline day transfer to Newtown.
