Comfortable opening to the year for Reserves
Reserves 5 Dolgellau 0
The Reserves first game of the new year was in the end a comfortable 5-0 win over Dolgellau.
The first half was  quite an even contest with Dolgellau's more physical approach against a very young Newtown passing game. But as half wore on the Reserves started to create more and more chances with Carroll, Mumford and Dawson all going close.
Pressure finally told on 35 mins when Mumford, Rodway and Macfadden linked up
well to set up Carroll to slot home the first goal of 2010.
It could have been 2-0 in the first minute of the second half  with Carroll and Mumford both going close.
The game changed on the hour
when Dolgellau were awarded a penalty, Dave Maguire pulling off a great save to give himself some much needed confidence and Newtown never looked back from there.
Two minutes later Jed Rodway was put through and cooly
chipped the advancing keeper. Newtown were then awarded a penalty when Carroll was tripped and he got up to convert,
Now fully on top Newtown added two further goals through Rodway and  Mumby.

Much needed points secured at Newbridge
The reserves collecetd all three points on ther road to Newbrudge on Saturday.
Ross Stephens, who was a last minute addition to the squad following the cancellation of the first team fixture, grabbed a brace as did Stuart Fraser with Matt Mumford also on target.
Matt Aubury grabbed a consolation for lowly Newbridge.
The Reserves will be at home to Llanrhaeadr on Saturday.

Newtown Reserves 4 - 1 Dyffryn Banw
 
An excellent hat trick from Richie Evans plus a goal from Barry Bellis saw the reserves win at home against a spirited Dyffryn Banw side.

Newtown Reserves 2 - 2 Rhayader
After the high of the game against Kerry in Mid week- the Reserves found Rhayader a totally different opposition and in the end were satisfied with a point.
Rhayader took control in the first half and deservedly lead one nil at the interesval. The second half saw the Reserves playing with more purpose and equalised with a with a well worked goal finished off by Barry Bellis. Rhayader took the lead again following a defensive mix up only for Barry Bellis to equalise again. A draw was a fair result all round.

Newtown Reserves 2 - 2 Rhayader

Reserves On Fire to Hit Kerry for Eight

Reserves 8 - 1 Kerry
 
Newtown Reserves produced an amazing 25 minute first half which saw the young Robins fire six goals in this spell. The Robins were infront within a minute when Mark Griffiths fired home before Barry Bellis soon got on the scoresheet.
Reserves again leave it late to take all three points

Reserves 3 - 2 Tywyn Bryncrug
 
Goals from Tom Goodwin and Richie Evans gave the reserves a 2-1 lead into the second half. Tywyn who battled hard throughout, equalised late in the second half and with the game moving to a draw - Gareth Mansell latched on to a through ball to score the winner in injury time maintaining the Robins lead at the top of the Spa Mid Wales League

Newtown Reserves 3 - 2 Berriew

A late goal in injury time from Tom Goodwin enabled the reserves to continue their winning streak. Earlier goals from Richard Evans and Shane Surtton gave 2 goal cushion but a spirited Berriew late comback with two goals in the last 15 mins seemed to have earned them a draw before Tom Goodwin's late goal.The Reserves stay at top spot of the Spar Mid Wales League.

Reserves Hit TNS for Three


Newtown Reserves 3 - 1 TNS Reserves
Newtown Reserves made sure all Robins side made it three out of three again hitting three goals as Tom Goodwin, Barry Bellis and a Gareth Mansell penalty made sure the Reserves stay at top spot of the Spar Mid Wales League.

Reserves Winners Again


Penparcau 0 - 2 Newtown Reserves
Newtown Reserves continued their fine start to the season with a two nil victory at Penparcau. Goals from Karl Seliaerts and Iwan Williams were enough from the young Robins. Newtown sit joint top of the Spar Mid Wales league along with Berriew with 10 out of 12 points. 

Bellis Fires Hat Trick as Reserves Hit Seven


Newtown Reserves 7 - 1 Presteigne
Newtown Reserves secured an emphatic victory with Barry Bellis leading the way with a hat trick as the reserves hit Presteigne for seven. Garaeth Mansell, Karl Seliaerts, Tom Goodwin and Tyrone McFadden also got their names on the score sheet.

Reserves Scoreless at Berriew


Berriew 0 - 0 Newtown Reserves
Berriew and Newtown were unable to break each other down as Newtown Reserves played out a close encounter on Saturday evening. There was little to sepreate the sides with both teams looking good for the season ahead.

Reserves recover from 2-0 down


Newbridge 2 – 3 Newtown Reserves
The Reserves travelled to Newbridge and found themselves 2-0 down very quickly on Wednesday night. Richard Astley pulled one back just before half time and Barry Bellis, fresh from his goalscoring on Tuesday night, saw the sides level. With 70 minutes gone, Damien Daniels let rip a tremendous drive which the keeper could only parry and Richard Evans nipped in to score what turned out to be the winning goal. That is 2/2 for the Reserves now. Well done lads.

Reserve score four on opening day

Newtown Reserves 4 – 0 Waterloo
Newtown reserves started off their league campaign in fine form with Barry Bellis and Marcus Sharrad both hitting a brace to see off Waterloo. Bellis opened the scoring before Sharrad doubled the young Reobins side. Bellis made no mistake to fire in his penalty with strike partner Sharrad adding his second and his teams fourth late on.
