Darren Ryan – Manager
A former Football League winger who made 57 appearances for Shrewsbury Town, Chester City, Stockport County and Rochdale, Darren Ryan was appointment manager of Newtown in November 2006. He had held the caretaker role with assistant Graham Evans since the departure of Roger Preece a few weeks earlier.

A highly experienced Welsh Premier winger/midfielder, Ryan scored 43 goals from 164 league appearances for Barry Town, TNS, Carmarthen Town, Haverfordwest County, Cardiff Grange Quins and Newtown. He has also played for Merthyr Tydfil and Newport County.

He is only the third manager at Latham Park since the birth of the League of Wales.

Dave Roberts - goalkeeper
Won two FA Youth Cup winner's medals with Liverpool in 2006 and 2007 but was surprisingly released from Anfield and joined Bangor City, leaving in January 2008 without making a Welsh Premier appearance and signing non-contract terms for Blue Square Premier outfit Weymouth. Signed for Aberystwyth Town in August 2008 but, after losing his place to Steven Cann the following season, was loaned to Newtown in January 2010.

David Maguire – Goalkeeper

Shrewsbury-born keeper who is a Republic of Ireland Under-17 international and spent time with his hometown club before joining Newtown in August 2009.

David Jones – Goalkeeper

Young keeper who was formerly a trainee at Shrewsbury Town and made his Newtown debut in the 1-1 Welsh Premier draw against Carmarthen Town in April 2007. Established himself as Newtown’s No 1 last season and gained a Welsh College’s Cap as well as being voted supporters player of the season.

Craig Williams – Defender

Promoted from the Newtown Academy. Appeared in the Sky TV show 'Football Icon' and the youngest to be voted Welsh Premier player of the month in November 2005.  Begins his fourth season as an established right wing back or sweeper after making his debut in 2005.

A product of the Newtown academy who made his first-team debut in the League Cup in September 2007.

Tyronne McFadden – Defender

A product of the Newtown academy who made his first-team debut in the League Cup in September 2007. Gained a Welsh College Cap last season.

Andrew Thomas – Defender

Locally-based defender who progressed through the junior and youth set-up to become club captain at Caersws, where he spent the whole of his Welsh Premier career, breaking a league record by making more than 400 appearances for the village outfit. Among the top five of all-time league appearances, he moved to loval rivals Newtown in July 2008.

Gavin Cadwallader – Defender

Started his career as a trainee with Shrewsbury Town, making his first appearance in the 2-2 League Two draw at Carlisle United in February 2006. Released from the Gay Meadow the following January and trained with Bangor City before joining Aberystwyth Town. After two seasons at Park Avenue, signed for Newtown in July 2008, resisting overtures from Welshpool, where his father Gareth was manager during their first season in the League of Wales in 1996/7.

Damien Daneils – Midfield

Joined Newtown from Rhayader Town. Had a brief spell at Merthyr Tydfil before returning to the Robins in September 2006. Tough tacking energetic player who can play at left back or left midfield.

Robbie James – Defender

Young defender who joined Newtown in the summer of 2007 from Llanfyllin Town. An accomplished young defender who will be looking to gain more Welsh Premier experience this season.

Gareth Jones – Defender

Midfielder who joined Newtown from Aberaman Athletic just before the end of August 2009. Has previous experience with Ton Pentre and Pontypridd Town in the Welsh League.

Richard Harris - midfield
Summer 2003 signing for Newtown who had spells with Manchester City and Shrewsbury Town. Later left Latham Park to join Guilsfield in the Cymru Alliance and, after spending pre-season of 2006 at TNS, was awarded a full-time deal. Unable to command a regular first-team place, he opted to move to Welshpool in January 2007. After two seasons at Maesydre, signed for local rivals Newtown on 2 January 2010.

Adam Worton – Midfield

Released by Hereford United in 2006 after four first team appearances and two seasons with the reserve team, coming through the ranks of the Edgar Street club’s youth system. Signed Welsh Premier forms with Caersws in the summer of 2006, before being one of Darren Ryan’s first signings for Newtown in November of that year.

Lee Hartshorn - defender
Lee Hartshorn signed from Merthyr on deadline day in January 2010. Joined the Martyrs from Welsh League outfit Merthyr Saints during 2008 and immediately made an impact, establishing himself in the centre of defence and scoring a number of important goals in a fine campaign.
But found it difficult to command a regular spot in the Merthyr side.

Former AFC Telford player who joined Newtown in January 2010 from Chirk AAA after spending a mnonth on trial with The New Saints.

Ross Stephens – Midfield

Llanidloes-born player who made Welsh Premier appearances for Caersws in 2003/4 during a loan spell from Shrewsbury Town. Released from the Gay Meadow after a loan period at Redditch United, he signed for the Bluebirds in June 2005. A Welsh Under-18 and Under-20 international, he moved to Rhyl in January 2007. However, he decided to quit at the end of the season and signed for Welshpool Town, but moved on to Aberystwyth in January 2009 before switching to Newtown in the summer of the same year.

Craig Hutchinson – Midfield

Signed by Connah's Quay in 1997 from Holywell Town, hails from Whitehaven in Cumbria. Spent the majority of his Welsh Premier career at the Nomads, but has also played for Llansantffraid (now TNS) and made his 300th Welsh Premier League appearance against Caernarfon on 1 September 2006. Left Bangor City for Newtown in August 2008

Dylan Blain – Midfield

A regular member of the Wales Under-19 side and the scorer of two fine goals for them from the right of midfield. An accomplished defender who can also play in midfield, spent five seasons with Haverfordwest before moving to Port Talbot Town in June 2006. Returned to the New Bridge Meadow in the summer in 2008 following a move back to west Wales. Signed for Newtown in August 2009.

Paul Roberts - striker
His goal scoring exploits at Porthmadog resulted in a £15,000 move to Wrexham where he gained first team experience and Welsh international honours. Joined Bangor after a brief spell back at Port and scored Bangor's winner in the 2000 Welsh Cup Final and the 2002/3 Uefa Cup win over Sartid Smederevo. A Welsh Under 21 international, he held the appearances record at Bangor before moving to Rhyl at the start of 2007. Made just two starts for the Lillies and was released at the end of May 2007, returning to his first club, Porthmadog, signing for Welshpool Town a year later. After resisting a move back to Porthmadog in the January 2009 transfer window, he returned to The Traeth for a third time in the summer. However, a few months later he departed again to join Newtown

Former Guilsfield youngster who joined Newtown in 2003/4. Had spells with Defaid Du and Four Crosses before returning to Latham Park from Shawbury United in January 2010.

Neil Mitchell – Striker

Came through the reserves to make his Welsh Premier debut for Caersws in 2004, spending four seasons with the village club before a move to local rivals Newtown in July 2008.
