Loan spells come to an end

Sears and Roberts head back to parent club

Defenders Ryan Sears and Callum Roberts have gone back to their parent club after spending the season on loan at Latham Park.

Sears arrived at Latham Park on loan from Shrewsbury Town last summer, and has gone on to score twice in 31 appearances for the club.

One of those goals came in the 4-2 win at TNS when Sears buried a bullet diving header to get the Robins back in the game.

Roberts followed his club team mate from the Shrews in January, after spending the first half of the campaign with The New Saints.

He made ten starts for the Robins, with two substitute appearances and one goal during his time.

Both players took to social media to thank the club for their support during their time.

Sears said: "Would like to thank and everyone involved with the club for my time on loan there, itís been a very good season for the team and myself personally.. great experience with a great bunch of lads ."

Roberts also gave his thanks to the club and fans, and everyone at Newtown Football Club wishes them the best in the future.
