New Chairman For Social Club & VPs

Following the Annual General Meetings of the Social Club Committee and the Vice President's Club, each of these important fund-raising and club organisation groups have elected new Chairmen,

Paul ArmesPaul Jewell has stepped down as Social Club Chairman and is replaced by Club Supporters Liaison Officer, Paul Armes. Paul will be carrying on the excellent work initiated by Paul Jewell in leading his small group of committee members to organise various social club events over teh course of the year, not least of which is the popular bingo night every Friday evening. The Social Club also organise other important club events such as New Year's Eve, Christmas Day and the Presentations Evening. A hefty donation was made to the First Team Manager to shore up the team defences in January this year, and outgoing Chairman, Paul Jewell has already been authorised to release further funds to help the coffers for the start of this season.

Roy EaglesThe Vice-President's Club is another group that is vital to the well-being of the club, with their terms of reference being to contribute towards the club's facilities and infrastructure and not towards any player or wage costs. They routinely collect thousands of pounds each year and it allows the Board to make applications for funding to help towards the general running of the club. Leaving after many years as Chairman, is Director and Groundsman, Gareth Owen. He is to be replaced by Roy Eagles, already well known at the club for the generous decorating work he carries out in the clubhouse, and a busy helper, with wife Ruth, on match days in particular. Roy arrives with plans to recommend enhancements to the equipment in the Sponsor's Lounge and will bring his usual enthusiastic personality to his new role.

Congratulations to both new leaders and good luck in your roles.
