"Players good enough for Wales C"

Hughes backs players for international call

With the Wales vs England C international just around the corner boss Chris Hughes has tipped some of his players for selection.

The international fixture is the first for many years between the two nations at C level, and is restricted to just Welsh Premier League players.

The clash will take place on March 20 at Jenner Park.

Shane Sutton was one of the last Robins to represent Wales at C international level, when it was changed to the under 23s.

Hughes said: "It is a great idea, and one that we welcome.

"My boys have been in form and there are quite a few who are eligible for selection, and a few who do warrant selection on their form.

"Owain Tudor Jones and Mark Jones have seen a lot of us this season, know the players well, so I am sure a few of them will be in their plans.

"There is a training camp I believe in a few weeks ahead of the game at Barry, so it would be nice to see a few of our lads turn out in the Wales shirt."

Hughes also believes that it will be of benefit to the club and the league to have more internationals, to help raise the profile of talent on show in Wales.

He added: "For the league it will be great, to get more exposure and show what it is all about.

"Same to us as well really, our lads have a good chance, and it will help boost the profile of the club, so I think it is a good thing all round."
