Robins Rocking during Pre-season Friendlies

Newtown AFC made it two out of two in their pre-season warm up

Manager Bernie McNally heaped praises on his young side "I was delighted with the work-out yesterday. Callum Wright scored the first with a 25yard strike in the 55th minute and Luke Boundford hit the second in 70th minute with a header. It was good to see Elliot Jones getting a full 90 minutes and it was a pleasing performance. I felt we should have had more goals, but the positive thing is that we were creating all the time and that is what pre-season is for. Wellington were a good strong side, and they pulled one back late on. Our players worked hard all day and that is another progressive step towards the start."

Captain Matthew Cook and local new signing and returning fans favourite Craig Williams were unable to play due to previously arranged holidays but the management team were able to start with a very strong formation of Dave Roberts, Shane Sutton. Max Penk, Kieran Mills-Evans, A J, Gareth Partridge, Callum Wright, Zac Evans, Steve Blenkinsop, Elliot Jones and with trialist and new signings Josh Hatrick and Iain Edmunds on the bench.

Next Saturday sees the young Robins return to Latham Park with a stern test against Llanidloes Town FC, kick off is at 2:30pm.
