Vauxhall Arthurs Sponsorship Presentation

The Sponsorship package from Vauxhall/Arthurs was
formally unveiled last night with Steve Hughes, representing Arthurs of Newtown pictured with
the players in the new home and away strips. Also pictured are the Management team of Bernie
McNally, Peter Carter and Physio, Wayne Peter. Newtown Chairman, Elwyn Preece and President, Richard Bonfield are also pictured.
The Newtown Board and Arthurs have also agreed a deal whereby any Vauxhall owner who arrives at the turnstyles on a home game
will be allowed entry for a Fiver. Steve Hughes (pictured left) of Arthurs advised the Board that he would be a proactive
sponsor and would be looking to put a vehicle display on at most of the home games this season and would be working with the
Club and his PR team to assist in marketing the club and its fixtures.
Club
Chairman, Elwyn Preece (pictured right) warmly welcomed Steve to the Club and said that he was delighted to
have a successful business associated with the Club as its Sponsor and hoped it would be a long relationship. Elwyn said
that he was used to an excellent rapport with the Car Sales staff, being a loyal Vauxhall buyer over the years and was particularly
pleased to have brokered the deal with Arthurs.
Steve
Hughes is no stranger to the Welsh Premier League as he arranged for Vauxhall to sponsor the League for a couple of years
and was, himself, a Club Chairman during his ten year association with Welshpool Town, later Technogroup Welshpool FC. His
understanding of the big demands on clubs will be most welcome, as will his experience and knowledge.
The Sponsorship presentation came just a day after the Welsh Premier League unveiled their new Sponsors for the next three
years in Bookmakers, CorbettSports. The deal will ensure some sponsorship money comes into the Premier League Clubs after
press speculation that no sponsor had been found for the new season. The League Cup is still something that has yet to be
settled with no sponsor announced and no fixtures in place yet.
Steve Hughes is pictured, left, with Shane Sutton showing a full length
view of the new home kit, and also Matthew Cook who has the new away kit.
There
are three sponsors for the new kits, with Vauxhall/Arthurs as the main sponsor with their logo on the chests, whilst, Director,
Noel Owen's NEO Fabrications company is the secondary sponsor with his company logo on the backs of players' shoulders
and another Director, Kevin Hughes of KJ Hughes Roofing Contractors is the third sponsor with his logo on the back of the
players' shorts. This is one aspect of fund raising that the board addressed this year as it attempts to increase the
levels of income to ensure that we not only field a side that can compete at the required level, but also be responsible and
keep our spending under control and make sensible provision for the repayment of loans. The Board is very grateful to the
contributions from their Sponsors, both big and small and will be thanking them with a planned event in late October where
a big name speaker will hopefully attend.
