ACADEMY LAUNCHES 2024 TRIAL DATES
It gives us great please to launch our academy trial dates for 2024. Our trials provide players with high ability and potential with the opportunity to gain a registration with our Category A academy.
Our pre academy phase (U8’s – U11’s) allows players to play for their grassroots teams and train and play in the FAW in the pre academy games programme.
Our academy phase (U12’s – U19’s) offers both on pitch support with our UEFA qualified technical staff but also analysis sessions, weekly strength and conditioning sessions, and medical/injury support.
Our academy teams have played additional games against the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal, Wolves, Everton, WBA and Shrewsbury Town amongst others this season.
The trial dates are as follows.
Under 7’s | Under 8’s | Under 9’s
- Wednesday 15th & 22nd May
- Friday 17th & 24th may
Under 10’s | Under 11’s
- Tuesday – 14th & 21st May
- Wednesday 15th & 22nd May
Under 12’s
- Wednesday 15th & 22nd may
- Thursday 16th & 23rd May

We are not holding official trial dates for our U13-U19 age groups however as always players can email us with the above information to show an interest in joining our academy.
We are looking for the best talent in Powys and beyond however please bare in mind that players must live within 90mins of Newtown. If you feel you have the ability and drive to develop at Newtown AFC, then we want to hear from you.
