On Monday 19 October, the Welsh Government announced that Wales would go into a ‘firebreak’ lockdown, commencing at 6pm on Friday 23 October until Monday 9 November.
The conditions of the lockdown state that:
- Sportspeople who work and earn a living through sport are allowed to continue working, and like everyone else they can leave home to do so if they cannot work from home.
- Fixtures involving professional sportspeople are allowed to continue behind closed doors. All participants, such as players, officials, coaches, and broadcasters, are there in a working capacity.
Meanwhile, the ‘elite programme’ – that had allowed the 2020-21 JD Cymru Premier season to start behind closed doors and with strict protocols – has been suspended.
We thank supporters for their understanding during these challenging times. We will keep you updated when we receive further information on a return to play and the rearrangement of these fixtures.
