INTERVIEW: WILLIAMS IN DETERMINED MOOD
Robins’ front-runner, Aaron Williams, is determined to put the disappointment of last weekend’s Nathaniel MG Cup exit well and truly behind him as our JD Cymru Premier campaign gets underway on Saturday.
Our first challenge sees us play host to a Penybont side who finished third last term to secure European qualification.
“After missing out on Europe and then going out of the Nathaniel MG Cup on penalties in our last game, we just want to get out there and start putting things right,” admitted Williams. “We’ve been working hard so that we’re ready to hit the ground running.
“I’ve managed to get plenty of good minutes into my legs over pre-season and we’ve played some good, competitive games that have given us the different kind of tests that we need.
“As I say, now we just want the action to start for real. Our goal is to qualify for Europe and we are determined as a group to achieve that this season.
“I’m not one to set personal targets; I just like to better my previous season’s goals and assists record.
“As a group, we know what we are capable of and what we can go on to achieve. We need to find a consistency in our performance levels.
“It’ll be a tough first test as Penybont achieved third place last season, but we’re excited for the challenge and hopefully we can make a winning start and get those three early points on the board.”
With adults’ admission just £5, over-65s £3 and under-18s £1, it’s great value! Come and join us on Saturday, kick-off is at 2.30pm.
