Is 3rd v 2nd as Newtown ready for Boxing Day Clash

Newtown welcome second place Connahs Quay Nomads to Latham Park as its 2^nd v 3^rd on Boxing Day. The Robins mathematically only need one more point to secure a guarantee top 6 finish but a win would pull them closer to their North Wales rivals.

A break in fixtures has allowed Jason Oswell the extra weeks and he is back in the squad as Chris Hughes has a full strength squad to choose from as we have a quick turnaround with a visit to Bala on Saturday 30^th December before we finish phase one with 2 away games at Barry Town (6^th) and TNS (13^th)

George Hughes hit a great volley at the earlier game but it wasn’t enough as Nomads were 3-1 victors on the day but since then Newtown have pushed up the table and head a chasing pack.

The Robins were 4-2 winners last time out to Colwyn Bay and will need to be at their best against an inform Nomads team who have Jordan Davies who is challenging our own Aaron Williams for the golden boot.

The Xmas period of games see our rivals play each other so there are big games away from Latham Park to keep an eye out which will affect the top 6 run in.
