Sophie Love has stood down as the club’s first team physio and has been replaced by Andy Pellow.
Sophie has been a part of Newtown Football Club for many years as a volunteer and as part of the board of directors.
She became the club’s assistant physio, working alongside sports therapist Wayne Peter and was then installed to physio when he left for The New Saints.
However she has had to step down from her role due to travel commitments, and chairman Howard Ellis has thanked her for her tremendous service to the club.
He said: “We’re disappointed to lose Sophie, she has had a long affiliation with the football club and we are so grateful for what she has done.
“She has family connections with the club, has sat on the board and has been both assistant physio and physio to the first team.
“She will be sorely missed at the club and we wish her all the best in the future.”
Manager Chris Hughes and the first team management staff have worked quickly to appoint Andy Pellow has the new first team physio.
Pellow is from Montgomeryshire and has worked with Shrewsbury Town as the head of academy physiotherapy and sports science.
He now works for the NHS, and will join the Robins coaching staff for the coming season.
Hughes said: “Sophie has left the club due to travel commitments and we thank her for all her help over the years.
“Andy has come in and is experienced and has already been working with the players, and we look forward to having him on board.”
