We are delighted to confirm the newest addition to our squad, experienced midfielder Sean Macallister.

Sean has a wealth of experience in the English Football League with former clubs including Sheffield Wednesday, Shrewsbury Town and Scunthorpe United to name a few.

Sean is an energetic central midfielder who likes to get forward and use his passing range to his advantage.

In a senior career which has so far spanned 13 years, Sean started that journey at Manchester United’s academy after a successful trial. In 2003 he joined Sheffield Wednesday where he made his first senior appearance 3 years later as a substitute away at Southampton. After being voted young player of the year he was later sent on two separate loan deals to  Mansfield and Bury to gain experience.

After suffering a stomach injury he was unfortunate enough to be released at the end of the 2009/10 season and was picked up by Shrewsbury Town where he was voted player of the month for August.  He gained promotion to League One at the end of the 2011/12 season but wasn’t offered a new deal.

Sean later joined Port Vale in League Two before heading to Scotland to join Cowdenbeath. After a season up north he returned back to League Two with Scunthorpe United where he made 42 appearances in the league and won player of the year after finishing second and gaining another promotion.

In 2016 he joined Grimsby. However he was misdiagnosed with an injury and missed most of the season. During the recovery period he was sent to York on loan and never played for Grimsby again. He has recently been at Chester before deciding to join us here in mid Wales.

Seans valuable experience will hopefully add quality and take us to the next step.
