NEWTOWN AFC ACADEMY ACHIEVE CATEGORY A LICENSE

It’s with great pleasure that we can announce that we have been granted a category A academy license by the FAW for the next two seasons.  As a category A academy we are able to offer the highest level of support to our young players, including not only our qualified coaching staff but also supplementary support such as strength and conditioning sessions, analysis sessions and a robust review and self reflection programme.

The audit process has signified 12 months of hard work within the club and congratulations must go to our academy staff for their diligent work, our part time support staff for their professionalism and commitment over the course of the season, our players for their performances and our academy parents for taking a leap of faith with us 12months ago – this season has been a real team effort and really signifies what our academy is all about.

A special mention must also go to our board of directors who have supported our category A application from start to finish.

As mentioned earlier, we can now boast to have one of only a handful of elite academy environments in Wales, we will now continue to develop our programme and ensure that our players are given the best possible platform to reach their potential.  The hard work starts now….
