NEWTOWN AFC ACADEMY TRIALS 2023-2024 SEASON
We are delighted to announce our academy trial dates for the 2023-2024 season. As announced last week, the club is delighted to have gained a Category A academy license for the next two seasons which means that our academy will be able to offer the highest level of developmental provision to our young players.
Our academy mission statement is “to have the most professional and productive academy in the welsh academy system” and we believe that we have laid the foundations over the past two seasons to achieve our target. All of our lead academy coaching staff are qualified to UEFA A and B level, we have a number of qualified physiotherapists offering the best support and rehab to our injured players, along with highly qualified strength and conditioning coaches to work with players on individualised plans. Our players receive an individual learning plan, 5 player reviews per season and benefit from our analysis software package to reflect on both training and game footage.
We have had 7 of our U19 squad make senior Cymru Premier League debuts this season which highlights the clear pathway we have created from our academy programme to our first team.
Having received our category A status we now look to continue to improve in all areas of our academy programme, both on and off the pitch.
