Newtown White Stars

NEWTOWN WHITE STARS

The name of the Whitestars is historic and dates back to the 1870s when the side won the North Wales Cup.

They were originally set up by Edward Gittins, and were a separate club to Newtown FC and wore different colour kits.

It became part of Newtown FC and the club’s history, and then the name was revived when former club man and club legend Keith Harding revived the name.

He began the Newtown Whitestars junior section, creating a number of teams and opportunities for youngsters to get involved in football.

Currently the Whitestars continue to grow and have a number of teams who play at Latham Park.

The Whitestars officially became the junior section of Newtown Football Club in September 2005, and are still running today.
