We’re delighted to announce the return of club legend Jason Oswell to Newtown AFC following his departure from Telford United.

Jason initially signed for the robins in the summer of 2014 after a short spell with fellow Cymru Premier League club Airbus.  Jason played a key role in run towards European qualification in 2015  and played in all four europa league games that summer, scoring in both the home and away legs against Maltese club Valetta.

Jason scored 50 goals in his three season at Latham Park which earned him a much deserved move to sleeping giants, Stockport County. One season, 25 goals and a player of the season award then earned him another move into the football league with Morecambe FC.  Subsequent moves too Wrexham and more recently Telford United have seen him continue his goal scoring form and now he returns to Latham Park.

‘We’re absolutely delighted to welcome Jase back.  All of the supporters will remember what Jason did in his three seasons with us and we’re excited to seeing him reunite with Aaron Williams to form what we hope will be a prolific partnership.  Jason will also allow us to be a little bit more flexible with both our tactical setup and style of play.  Welcome back Jase.”    Chris Hughes, Newtown AFC Manager.

“I’m delighted to be back.  Once I’d deicided to leave Telford there was only one club that I wanted to play for.  I can’t wait for the season to start.”    Jason Oswell.

We’re delighted to welcome Jason back to the club – once a robin, always a robin!!
