PREVIEW: MOMENTUM SHIFT

Last weekend’s 2-0 victory over Barry Town United made it three successive wins for The Robins as the momentum starts to build.

On Saturday we renew acquaintances with Colwyn Bay in what will be another tough challenge against opponents who go into the game three points behind us.

“The momentum has really shifted just lately,” said Louis Robles. “I think that the team has found a real balance in terms of the formation and style we are playing at the minute, which is helping us get positive results

“Personally, I’m really enjoying playing more centrally of late; I’m just getting back used to playing in that position, but I think me and Aaron have formed a decent partnership up there.

“Going to Colwyn Bay will provide us with a good test; every game in this League provides its own challenges this year.

“They are full of confidence after back-to-back wins, so it’s important we don’t come off the levels and standards we have shown these past few games.

“It will be exciting to play there. I know the majority of the lads have never played up there so hopefully there’s a good crowd on the day and we can come away with the right result.”

We asked Robles what is targets are for the season ahead.

I just want to win, that’s my only target,” he added without hesitation. “I think this year we’ve got to be looking to try and get a European position, however it may come.

“We were so close last year and it still bothers everyone involved that we didn’t get over the line, so I really believe we’ve got to be aiming to try and get in to Europe this year, as difficult as it will be!”
