PREVIEW: SPRING IN OUR STEP AS WE PREPARE FOR LATEST TEST
Fortunes can change quickly in football, and after impressive performances and victories in our last two games, we go into Saturday’s home League game against Barry Town United with a spring in our step.
Having followed up victory over Cardiff Met University in our last home outing with a commanding 4-0 triumph at Haverfordwest County in our last game, manager, Chris Hughes, is relishing the latest challenge that stands before us.
“Winning games always brings a sense of good feeling,” said Hughes. “We know that we didn’t get off to the best of starts to the season, but our performance levels in the last two games have been very pleasing.
“It was good to get up-and-running with our first win and then we took the confidence gained from that into last weekend’s trip to Haverfordwest where, to be fair, we dominated from start to finish.
“It’s never an easy place to go to, so to come home with a 4-0 win and good performances all over the pitch was fantastic.
“Now we look to add to this mini run on Saturday. It’s shows how tough this League is as Barry are still looking for their first win after three draws and three defeats so far.
“They are a strong outfit; they have a new manager at the helm and I know a bit about them.
“It’s a challenge that we are looking forward to and hopefully there will be another good turn-out from the fans to really get behind us.
“The supporters have been excellent both home and away so far this season and with it being a Saturday 2.30pm kick-off I’d like to think we’ll have a good crowd here.”
