REACTION: ROBINS READY TO RESPOND ON FRIDAY

THE ROBINS return to action on Friday as we head to Caernarfon Town (kick-off 7.45pm).

Having fallen to an opening day defeat at the hands of Penybont, manager, Chris Hughes, is ready for the latest challenge that stands before us.

“I watched Caernarfon win 4-0 at Colwyn Bay last weekend,” he said. “They played really well and it was the performance of the opening weekend for me.

“Looking at our game, there were disappointing aspects but also positive aspects. The key moments went for our opponents.

“I was pleased with how we started the game, but there was a 15-minute spell when we conceded almost two identical goals, which was disappointing, and this was the frustrating part.

“We started the second half well, but then the third goal was a freak goal that happens once every blue moon and it gave us a mountain to climb.

“It was good that we kept going and pulled a goal back, but it was a long way back for us to get anything out of the game.

“We’ve dusted ourselves off, trained well and now we’re ready for this latest challenge.”

Kick-off at The Oval on Friday evening is 7.45pm.
