Goals from Craig Williams and Fumpa Mwandwe either side of half time saw Newtown produce a clinical away performance at Penybont to go up to second in the Cymru Premier – and put themselves in the driving seat for European qualification.

A thumping first half free kick from Williams put the Robins in charge in the 40th minute, before Mwandwe latched on to a long ball over the top to double the visitors’ advantage on the hour mark, and despite some late pressure from the hosts, Newtown held on to preserve a clean sheet and three vital points in the race for second spot.
