WE WENT down to a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Dundalk in the second leg of our UEFA Europa Conference League tie at Park Hall.
We started the game in a positive fashion, seeing plenty of the early ball with Rowland heavily involved in the action but we were unable to seriously threaten the visitors’ goal.
Just as our opponents were starting to get into their stride, we went close following a counter-attack which ended with Rowland going close.
A neat move from the visitors ended with Kelly firing over before Davies embarked upon a positive run for The Robins only to be crowded out as he advanced into enemy territory.
The opening period ended with Fletcher seeing an effort have the sting taken out of it by a deflection as we went in at the break with the scoreline locked at 0-0.
The second half started with McEleney going close with a free-kick from distance that hit the woodwork, but it wasn’t long before they did edge in front when McMillan played in Duffy who was able to guide the ball home.
In the wake of the goal, Mwandwe won a free-kick in a promising position only for Fletcher’s effort to be well saved.
With 66 minutes on the clock, Fletcher went close to levelling matters, whilst at the other end soon afterwards, Kelly broke through but failed to capitalise.
The visitors had plenty of possession in the closing stages as they played the game out whilst we continued to work hard and late on substitutes Breese and Rushton linked up as the latter was thwarted by the ‘keeper.
