Following our two recent games against Linfield and Ellesmere Rangers respectively, we caught up with first team manager, Chris Hughes, for his thoughts from both games. First up was the trip to Northern Ireland and a game against Linfield that finished 0-0, a game that Chris talks about as follows:
“The trip over to play Linfield was an excellent experience due to the game being played at Windsor Park, the national stadium of Northern Ireland. It was something that everybody enjoyed, and I would like to take this opportunity to thank Linfield for inviting us over. The game itself was challenging with regards to being in and out of possession and was a very worthwhile game to play as we build up to the Europa Conference League tie against HB”
The next game for the Robins was a 5-1 win over Ellesmere Rangers at Latham Park a few days after the Linfield encounter. Another game that Chris found to be a very useful exercise for the players:
“Just like the game against Linfield, the game against Ellesmere also provided us with different challenges and was another good test for the lads. An important aspect of both games was that nobody picked up any injuries and all the players in the squad were able to get some vital minutes under their belts”
We would like to take this opportunity to thank Chris for taking the time to speak to us in what is a very busy period for both him and all involved at the club.
